The Syrian Army has generally fought poorly, and relied on foreign support.

Plus they're more interested in fighting rebels than Daesh.

And with recent Russian airstrikes focused on the rebels, Daesh has retaken lost ground, and gained new ground. Thanks, Putin.

That too. Daesh is not much a conventional threat. If Syria had a real army actually trying to fight them they would be crushed years ago.

The SAA has been carrying out a lot of offensives in the east against Daesh, and retaken quite a bit of ground. IIRC the assault on Raqqa should begin soon if timetables aren't fucked up.

They're heading for Deir ez-Zor first, so not too soon.

Sure. But the fact that it has taken them 5 years and they still have not defeated Daesh shows what the SAA. Daesh is a joke from a conventional perspective.

If the SAA was worth a damn they would have taken Raqqa years ago. Look how wuickly the Kurds crushed Daesh in their territories. Daesh is weak. They only exist because their opponents are weak and divided.

ISIS hasn't been in the Syrian civil war for five years, they joined in 2013. Also by that logic how come the Iraqi army hasn't took Mosul yet? or how come the Syrian rebels haven't took Raqqa from ISIS?

Okay, three years.
The Iraqi Army is a total joke. But still has done better than the SAA!

The rebels are urban guerrilla fighters. They are no where near Raqqa. The rebels are not an actual army and cannot conduct long range offensive operations. Just a rag tag band of guerrilla fighters.

The stupidity, oh the stupidity. These ISIS recruits make the Three Stooges look smart. You cannot make this up. Even if I made the dumbest possible character, I would not be creative enough to come up with stupidity this extreme.

BBC3 Documentary on women fighting back against IS.

They have a mistake though. They claim Yazidis are Christians, but they actually follow the Yazidi Faith. Maybe it's actually a mixed squadron?

ISIS kill 25 iraqi "spies" by lowering them into acid

They lowered these folks into vats of acid until their organs dissolved.

These ISIS scum are probably the most vicious group of people I've ever heard of in my life. Honestly, they're probably worse than the Nazis.

We should launch a crusade and exterminate these sub human vermin and their evil ideology.

to be honest they're total edgelords that try to think up of extreme new methods of execution to get attention and we'd be better off not giving graphics descriptions of them and sharing the videos
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Considering there is already on-going military intervention against Daesh, by most of the major players in the Western world, and part of the reason that Daesh rose up was due to Western involvement in the Middle East, and considering declaring a religiously Christian armed campaign against them would give them an excellent propaganda source to spread their ideology and recruit new fighters, and allienate or put off our more secular allies such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, et cetera, I think that is ultimately unnecessary to do that.

the sharpness of the edge may be vastly different, by the edgelord inside never changes

you're aware innocent people have died after being tortured by the US right? i'm not sure how that's a reasonable response to this.

The three great caliphates in Islamic history (Rashidun, Umayyad, Abbasid) all gave freedom of religion and no persecution against other people of other religions, allowing them to live freely in the territory of the Muslims. These savages just kill anyone who has the slightest bit of dislike for them. At least al-Qaeda cut off ties with them, they've lost 45% of their territory. Sure, they're causing havoc. And yes, there will be more jihadists after them even if we eradicate each and every IS member. http://www.businessinsider.com/isis-losing-territory-2016-5 http://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/isis-terror-group-losing-ground-in-iraq-launch-fresh-attacks-in-syria/news-story/58efb8d02329f5780d576c091f86776c

The word "crusade" is a very poor choice in this context. It historically refers to wars fought by Christians against Muslims, and so your post starts to sound less like "let's exterminate ISIS" (which is itself advocating a war crime if you include extermination of prisoners and non-combatants in that) and starts to sound more like thinly veiled code for "Let's kill Muslims in the name of Jesus".
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Because when I want to see a crusade against a repulsive ideology, I want the people who annually spend billions, alongside their allies, in propping it up in a country that spends tons of that money on spreading it throughout the world, to lead it.

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

The actions of ISIS are downright barbaric. Still, they don't surpass the Nazis and your wording in advocating the necessary campaign against terrorism leaves quite a bit to be desired.
