add a gender neutral pronoun (one that isn't confused with plural use and one that isn't dehumanising), and mandate that it be used instead of the traditional sexist pronouns

we can change each and every language as much as necessary

remember, people today speak very differently than how they did years ago; languages change, they are not fixed in stone and they are not sacred

They changed with natural evolution, rather than social tampering. People don't just say things differently because you want them to, it takes natural events for languages to change.

It would be like tampering DNA without properly understanding it. We still don't understand everything about langauge, it's roots and how it forms exactly. No one can predict what new words will be like, or new slang. Would you be able to tell years before things like "Yolo" and "Swag" would be commonly used now? Uprooting pronouns or something that basic in the name of even the most noble goals could have unintended consequences.

Then you should know how the Académie française hates French speakers using English loanwords, or how they got pissed at the French government for adopting the use of the feminine form of "minister" in an official capacity.

Now imagine how apeshit they would go over adding another gender for nouns.

Moreover, it's not like there are any need for adding a gender neutral pronoun.

There isn't anything wrong with it, it's just hypersensitive politically correct/grammatical nitpicking that would demand an "alternative," in my humble opinion.

There's nothing wrong with it. There is something wrong with making a big deal out of people saying he or she instead of they.

One is not entirely sure one wholly agrees.

The trick is to type with a British accent while wearing a monocle, preferably shortly after waxing one's mustache (where one has one; those of the female persuasion can instead type shortly after recovering from a fit of the vapours).

I have decided that whenever one mentions a "British accent," otherwise unspecified, I am going to assume they mean "Geordie."

I encourage others to do likewise.

But the word "Wrong" can't be a common noun, because being common and not proper would hurt one's feelings.

Most of the opinions expressed on this account are regrettable, horrendously misinformed, and downright reprehensible. I am retracting them all.
