Can the Middle East be saved?

The Middle East is quite unstable as of this point in time. Bashar al-Assad got a seven-year extension to his presidential reign last year after he won an election, while a nuclear deal with Iran is still in the works. Obviously, ISIS/ISIL/Daesh is a huge thread to freedom in that region, and Israel and Palestine always seem to be fighting. So my question to you is: can the Middle East as a whole be saved from the path of destruction it appears to be headed down?

My opinion:

As much as I'd like to be optimistic and say that the Middle East will sort out its problems and become more peaceful, I am pessimistic. Relations between countries in the Middle East are quite strained as it is, and ISIL will not be defeated anytime soon without a united front against terrorism.

Power shifts is a universal law of politics. The idea that the current order can always continue is absurd. That being said, it is going to be very difficult for the Middle East to escape from the legacy of colonialism and the continued dominance of authoritarian rentier states. The situation easily could be vastly improved if the great powers of the world stopped supporting the economic dominance of the people of the Middle East and the entrenchment of economic activity based solely upon the extraction of natural resources. Furthermore, education, infrastructure, and social support networks are essential to provide stabilization and economic diversification. If we were serious about seeking peace in the Middle East, we would be pushing for the equivalent of another Marshall Plan.

The people in this region have been fighting each other for over 5,000 years. I don't see this ending anytime soon.

ISIS sell the oil barrel at 40$ (half of the average prize) to the UE, the NATO an the other good guys, so this terrorist war is the same sh!t they do in Lybia and Irak.
