To be honest, I'm a little disheartened that this thread barely broke ten pages when the last two have been more in the 25-30 region... what happened to the NSG community?

That's another reason I was thrown off by results already, the thread was so short.

Well, it was late, we can only call it a pattern if it becomes a habit of sparsely posted in poster award threads.

Yeah, I pretty much was browsing page one when I began to wonder, "Shouldn't we have had the poster awards by now? Did I miss them?" I then created this thread.

Don't worry, though, whether or not I host them, James Bond the poster awards will return.

You had a late surge of gold nominations. With the methodology I used this gave you a leg up. This was not dissimilar to IM who also had a late surge of such nominations, just fewer of them. In fact, IM became fairly frequently nominated in the last few pages... hence why Chessmistress just missed out on the KYC award.

Thank you, folks. Even if made in jest, y'all brought a grin to my face this morning.

We've got a lot of fun folks who participate here, in a number of areas, in a number of ways. We've created a rather unique little community, all in all, over the course of the past decade plus. There have been amazing people come, go, come back, stick around, give us the finger and leave, sneak back under other names, and even observe more quietly from the sidelines with the occasional comment or observation. All of it has added something to the place, and even those I've disagreed with or butted heads with have brought some real life to it all. Aside from a lack of spammers, trolls, and assorted unnecessary asshattery here and there, I don't think I'd have it any other way, really.

Appreciate the nod, truly. I admit, I still find myself making motions towards locking spam, moving threads, redirecting players or offering advice on where to post, how to do something, whether or not a thing is appropriate. I can at least help with some of the latter still, and the odd emails I get asking about this, that, or the other. I find myself irritated that things aren't handled as quickly or efficiently as I think they ought to, and there is admittedly a moment of irritation when I can see the obvious answer, and can't do anything about it. Ah well. It was an ... experience. If I ended up helping the player base in some way through the course of it, I'll count it time well spent, regardless of the issues on the administrative side of things. I guess sometimes when respect is utterly lost, there just isn't any going back.

Thanks again, folks. Don't stop asking questions, demanding fair treatment, challenging calls you think are off, or being the wonderfully unique and sometimes crazy people y'all are. Much wubs, and happy holidays to ya.
