Nominations close in 25 minutes. I will now begin checking I've inputted everything correctly so the final outcome will probably be ready a little bit later than that.

Definitely a bit later. ~~Possibly as much as an hour.~~ I think two hours is more probable (i.e. 1.5 hours from this edit).

Just more I never see in depth posts on anything anymore. ASB(nad he is, let's say, a certain political slant) and Forsher occasionally do but that's about it. Caninope used to, but not anymore, as a lot of people stopped.

When I read nomination I usually think that means choosing who and what will actually get voted on, yet it was the same thing here or what? Just wondering.

One's nomination is more a vote in the above sense.

So, for instance, six people might nominate you for the debating category as their gold medal pick. That would leave you on 18 points, so your six nominations, in this version of the awards would've got you bronze. As opposed to, say, holding a series of polls or whatever where the fact you were nominated over, say, five times means your a candidate.

And, of course, one could always nominate oneself. This actually caused a difference in this year's awards so the moral of the story is: self-promotion works.

I included the list just in case one of the posts I thought wasn't an actual nomination (for instance, I nearly missed LG's) was intended to be one.

Wasn't paying much attention to this thread so when I saw the results out I thought when did you guys start voting? I saw nominations but that was a different stage in my mind

The same thing that always happens. Established people spend less time here or take off, and it takes a while for newer people to make themselves known.
