See, I talk openly about this stuff anyways, despite totally being in the closet with my grandparents. If for no other reason than because I can always say "you don't have to be black to support racial equality, so why would you think I'm LGBT just for supporting LGBT equality?".

You can just give an answer that's vaguely true, like "because everybody deserves equal rights" or something.

I feel like my parents are smart enough to see through that. Besides, the ammount of struggle it takes to not refer to myself as female is any indicator, I'd probably blurt out something really stupid.

Heh, my mother told me that even if I transition fully she'll never change how she refers to me a 'he/his' or by my male name, and I'm pretty sure she speaks for the whole family. So that means, any contact with them would be outing myself later on. I guess a benefit to that was that I didn't have to consult her about the name I picked.
