I wanted to find a free game where you created your own country.

So at one point I typed in "Create your own country" and there you go.

I went looking for basically an online version of the civilization series but with more customization. Like a "make your own nation" type deal. I got almost what I was looking for with NS.

A friend told me about it. His nation was Frewsia, if you've heard of it.
For anyone wondering, I joined this website during my edgy teenage years. I made a lot of dumb, awkward posts, flip-flopped between various extreme ideologies, and just generally embarrassed myself. I denounce a sizable amount of my past posts. I am no longer active on NationStates and this nation/account is no longer used.

Randomly, to be honest.
I was searching for Yuktobania on Google when I suddenly stumbled upon this site. I got intrigued so I made my own nation.
Another generic Westernized/Japanized nation with some Eastern stuff to it. Nothing special.
Also does not use NS Stats (I have written factbooks, dammit!)

Back when I was in Year 9 at school some people asked me to join their group who invaded and caused shit in Communist regions. I did, and informed all the targets so that all the attacks failed until my "friends" got butthurt and ragequit.

Within the first year, I was the only one in that little region, and had been actively RP'ing and having fun all over the place.

If you had some interest in learning how to mod, you could customize more in Civilization, too.

Society for Creative Anachronism - or the joke among some peeps, 'Some Consenting Adults', heh heh heh. Medieval re-enactment group, worldwide. Can be a lot of fun, can be a lot of politics, can be fairly educational, depending on your group and the people in it. I've had a lot of fun with it, though I haven't been active in a while. From making my own armor, jewelry, costuming, member of the first Artemisian Crossbow Company, creating feasts for around 100 people with a volunteer staff, hardsuit fighting, dancing, singing - ayup. Lots to do if its the sort of thing that interests you.
