I am deeply sorry for the attacks on your nations capital, and pray for those affected by the attacks both in Paris and throughout France. As a fellow Muslim I apologize deeply and in place of those who use our religion to commit such an heinous crime. I pray for France, for Paris, and for all those affected.

Eh, I saw the news feed and couldn't turn it off. So I just went back to FF which I have already spent a lot of time personalizing haha

Meh. Looks like someone tried to mash IE and Firefox together. It just looks like the IE logo but more… bloated.

Not really a fan.

Hey, where's my Windows 10?! It's Wed 29/07/2015, 23:30... When are all these upgrades from Windows 7 and Windows 8 going to happen?
On another note, I'm backing up my files, once I figure out how to. Microsoft has a way of royally messing things up... Can anyone tell me how to do that on Windows 7?

When Microsoft decides it wants to stop excluding you. It's unfair, I know.

Plug an external hard drive / flash drive / DVD / floppy disk / punch card into your computer. Drag and drop all of your important files onto it.

Right, guys. I have a plan. Tomorrow, I'll just leave my computer on to do what it likes. And we'll see what happens.

My only problem is when I open up the task manager, I see the search process running. If someone can tell me how to fix that (remove it) that would be most appreciated.

There are also a few other process that has me scratching my head. The Service Host, there are like a dozen of them that I have never seen in the previous one.

Oh, yeah. I think they changed the way Windows manages services in Windows 8. So you end up seeing svchost a lot more.

Yeah, I see it a lot in 8.1.

I can't even upgrade to 7, 8, or even Vista (not that I'd want to upgrade to Vista, of course), so I doubt I could for 10.

So, I've never gotten a new OS for a computer before. Anybody know if I'll have to put all my stuff on an external hard drive and then update, or if I can just leave it as is and update?

You can leave as is but a system image with whatever you're using would probably help to have backed up

After the train wreck that was Windows 8, I would definitely say that Windows 10 is by far the best OS there is out there, however, I wonder why it took so long for me to finish installing and downloading it (it took me two hours in total)

I don't think that upgrading to Windows 10 removes any files or programs, it definitely didn't remove anything for me

All my files were saved, nothing was touched when it upgraded from 8.1 to 10. It's good, really, they got rid of that shitty start menu "mode" and just made it a little box in the corner like it used to be. Thanks for not smoking so much crystal meth this time, Microsoft.
