Actually /r/TrueAtheism doesn't usually contain the historically/religiously terrifying generalizations often displayed by people for all to see in the subreddits of /r/badhistory, /r/badreligion, and /r/badphilosophy. I mean sure every now, and then there is a slip up, but it isn't to the level of /r/atheism (which often delves into moments of downright self parody).

Voat's been overloaded since FPH. It's not a suitable replacement, because of this and because it introduces barely any new ideas. It will fall prey to exactly the same problems as Reddit.

I have no idea, sorry. I think it's that one. I come and go in drifts and waves every few months or so. This time I'm trying to stay. If we are thinking about the same thing, it's probably fair to call it minor in the sense that this Reddit debacle is 'major'.
What were the two causes, incidentally? Was one something about the mods looking into telegrams? If so, that's the very same.

im going to spoiler this because i feel weird talking about it and bringing it up now

the first was mods going through moderation candidates TGs with a fine comb without telling them before they even know it happened or that they are candidates, which is yeah probably the same thing we're thinking of. i can't remember how it ended though. the second was discontent with the mishandling of a report about a poster pretty much doing everything short of posting "i rape children" to let people know that if he had not already done so he would very much like to go to thailand where their laws are not bound by petty western morality. it all got mostly sorted out in the end but for a while it was understandably a source of intermittent problems. but i don't want to end up sparking it off again.

NS spinoffs do likewise,) but I don't recall seeing a large site foot-nuke itself. I kinda have to wonder if this will blow over in a week or two and things go back to the status quo, or if this is major enough to truly spark a long-term exodus and community collapse.

It was a new site in 2013 to protest what was percieved as censorship on 4chan. Basically 4chan, but freeeeer. I can't wait for 16chan.
