Note that this was passed before Harper came to power and did not do much to change it.

Wait. I thought the Conservatives were against gay marriage. Which party actually opposes it?

Sorry, updated the OP with link.

Yes the Conservatives are against gay marriage. but most Canadians are for it, so they do not do much to bring it into debate because they'll lose support in some areas.

Officially, the Conservative party is not against homosexuality or gay marriage. Many of their members personally are, but the party line is that they have no intention of challenging it's legality.

So, virtually no Canadian party objects to homosexuality?

Only Christian heritage has the gull to even thinking about it as a platform.

No christian heritage party is the name it what I mean. Thankfully, Canada doesn't let them in.

Okay. Here's the thing: Christian heritage party forms a coalition with the Green, the Independent, and the Bloc Quebecois, and rise to 2nd or 3rd place in the next election. :D

They would have an edge, when the winning party is a minority.

I guess they don't believe in God. Meh, whatever. :p

I still vote for the Conservatives, then. They are the least leaning towards same-sex unions.

What the hell does belief in God have to do with trying to become a relevant political party?

Liberal. Best chance of winning in my riding and traditionally I've supported the Liberal Party for most of my life.

I made a joke about a Christian heritage party forming a coalition with the Green and the Bloc, and you said the Green and the Bloc will oppose to that, so I said the two parties do not believe in God.

Well no, it has to do with both the Bloc and the Greens being left wing, as well as being favouring LGBT rights and keeping marriage equality around. Elizabeth May (Green Party leader) is Anglican while Gilles Duceppe (Bloc leader) I think is potentially the only significant party leader that might be atheist.

If May is Anglican, wouldn't she be able to support the Christian party by forming a coalition? :?:

Not if they were to promote things such as restricting access to abortion procedures and reversing LGBT equality. Same goes for Mulcair and Trudeau. Harper, most likely, is still staunchly against LGBT equality and abortion personally, but he realises it'd be political suicide to pursue reopening the 'debate', so he doesn't press it.

I mean, Christians object to abortion and LGBT equality as well. They would not have to conceal their stance, if they have a supporter behind them like the Christian party.
