From my brief experience of Linux I'd wager that's because things tend not to "just work" instead of requiring dozens of lines in a terminal, juggling and spinning a frisbee on a pen balanced on your nose

Not enough to justify moving to Boston.
Linux may be my weakest OS, but I can at least use it. It's not terribly common though outside of the developer scene, I guess.

Though all the developers that I've met that use Windows have a virtual machine running Linux
