No Bristol Rovers fans as far as I am aware of, but it wouldn't have mattered either.

Dude, this is America. Except for when the World Cup rolls around, we just don't care about soccer. And the only reason we care even then is because we're uber-patriotic as a society. This is not a conspiracy on the part of the American government.

Are you capable of attacking the argument or are you only able to muster attacks on the player?

Due to your long and relatively clean record, you only get an unofficial warning for flaming this time. Don't let it happen again.

Sepp Blatter Blames US and England

New York Times wrote:Mr. Blatter told reporters late Friday and Saturday that the United States authorities timed a raid in Zurich last week as an attempt to stop him from of being re-elected as the head of soccer’s world governing body.

Mr. Blatter also said the arrests of 14 soccer and marketing officials had stemmed from resentment by England and the United States, which failed in bids to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, respectively.

if you read the article, he actually thinks his stature is equal to a national leader's and that FIFA is equivalent of a country. Wow.

By nature how much power a person has is heavily situational. Specifically about fotball on a global level the head of FIFA probably has more to say than the leader of any nation and I think that's natural. That's how it usually works when it works. Power structures are often overlapping and just as often very complex.
It's just the same if i.e. you look at individual achievements in a football game. That specific player has more power over his own performance in that specific game he's about to play than Sepp Blatter has and that's what it takes for football as a game to function. Having power in one way doesn't mean you control everything.

Anarchy is the natural state and people should start minding their own business instead of interfering with things in a ridiculous way. With all that said, it would be better if the world cup was played in USA and England.

That's ridiculous. By that standard Roger Goodell, Rob Manfred, and Adam Silver should all be Presidents, not commissioners of professional sports leagues.

American rugby, baseball and basketball don't really matter outside USA, but this is precisely an example of what I'm talking about. In some places these people might be respected, while in most parts of the world they're completely unknown. I had to look them up myself.

That is quite true! Besides I'm pretty sure Sepp Blatter will remain untouched and be in power unless of course UEFA actually carries out what they're threatening to do and pull out of FIFA...Almost everyone from Diego Maradona to Luis Figo has said that Sepp should resign but he has managed to get through tight spots before as well.

You're missing my point. None of the American commissioners have as much power as a state governor, never mind the President of the United States. Neither does Sepp Blatter. The only way one could give that impression is by shoveling out truck loads of money and getting kickbacks in return. Guy's dirty, even if his hands never touched a Swiss Franc.

Fecking called that he would blame England.

Knew I should have tried to put a bet on it.

You know, when I started with the Dear Leader / EL PRESIDENTE crap I was being sarcastic. I didn't think he actually did see himself as an actual head of state who's above any and all laws.

Not that into soccer but not at all surprising. Even I had heard of high profile corruption in the FIFA org. Sounds like they were about as on top of the situation as they realistically could be given the elite executives involved and the overall complexity of the organization and the case.

Darth Blatter has more power than individual players because he can order his referees to completely ruin a team's chances of winning.

Not saying that Blatter and Fifa arent corrupt but the only reason why it started to react now is to remove Russias bid for the World Cup.
