My kids are very much into the playoffs this year, and they all filled out brackets.

‣ Caroline (age 9) has the Canadians over the Blues

‣ Jack (age 7) has the Wild over the Capitols

‣ Elizabeth (age 5) has the Canadians over the Ducks

and

‣ Abigail (age 3) has the Rangers over the Blues

I may have helped Abigail fill hers out.

For the record, we are Bruins fans up here.

I have:

Cup Final: Tampa over Hawks

I did kind of give up on it after the first round, though.

Blackhawks + 'epicness' x 'one bajillion' is not a complete equation. Let me fix that for you:

BH + Epicness x 1bajillion =/= Stanley :p

Yeah, nope. Wild totally win the cup this year: Parise getting hat-tricks five-hole each game, finishing off the Hawks and sweeping all following series. That's 33 five-holed goals. That is scientific fact. *nods*

I hope I did the math right, I hope I did the math right...

Let's check.

Parise + (hole5 x hats3) / 4games = 33 goals5-hole
And, as we all know, 33 goals5-hole is equivalent to 4game (CS), where CS = comeback sweep.

Yep. That math looks solid.

Tyler Johnson scores with one second left :(

Anyway, the Habs, who are a perfect 0-8 against Tampa, now need to win four straight :(

I'm sure the refs agree with you, considering that bullshit no-goal call. Shades of '04 right there.

The funny thing is that fans of both sides were arguing the refs were in favor of the other side's team.

There was a lot of vitriol on social media after the game. Flames fans sticking it to the haughty Ducks fans, who would say the Flames fans are acting cocky and that their team got lucky. Then it got more heated when fans of other teams got involved, especially with Oilers fans taking pot shots at the Flames fans while Jets and Kings fans went at the Ducks fans. Some Ducks fans pretty much said the Flames aren't the concern, but rather Chicago.

All in all, pretty interesting stuff. Most everyone figured the Ducks had it in the bag, despite it all. Even Calgary fans thought their team wasn't doing so well at first. It was almost a double Orange Crush that night to them.

But the Flames won. Question is, can the Flames keep it up?

The Caps are really grinding the gears of Rangers fans right now to the point some are even going as far to say FTS and think the NHL itself is one big joke.

Officiating, they say, is pro-Washington and that, "because it's the playoffs," tons of incidents are being unnoticed.

I'm not saying HFBoards posters comprise the entirety of their fanbases, but the sections for Montreal, Minnesota and New York are really bleak right now. A lot of people calling for boycotts, FMLs, etc.

Reminded me of Arizona fans on theirs after the Draft Lottery (a contrast to the CalgaryPuck posts about it, which ran the gamut from "Oilers will Oiler it up (and even with Chia too!)" to "I think we ought to be worried now/at least we'll have a Battle of Alberta again".

Enroth claims the only goal of Buffalo was to tank.

Yes, I know it's not necessarily playoffs related, but still, could drum up discussion. We can get the next incarnation of this thread going early.

Oh yes the Caps always get the calls! Like that is why they have the sum total of 0 wins in Stanley Cup finals and 1 lone appearance after 41 years of play. Please, NY fans, stop whining soooo loud!!!

Holtby is just stonewalling you. See that penalty shot snag last night? That was the refs doing that, right?

yes because Stanford (who couldn't buy a goal if he gave the other team the remainder of his contract) and a defenseman who can't flipping play defense were totally worth keeping around. plus I'd take the other goalie over the both of them.

Minnesota's run comes to an end.

The bleakness I mentioned earlier continues, but I know one person who's potentially happy about it.
