There would be no escalation, there would be no need for it. Russia might provide some under the table support to Iran, but otherwise they have no reason to do anything other than sit back and laugh as America throws blood and money into a black hole and completely destroys it's role as a 'leader' in international affairs. Keeping in mind, short of Iran doing something severely stupid, this hypothetical war only comes about if Republicans tell Russia, China, and our own European allies to go fuck themselves because we're doing this the 'MURICAN WAY.
