The strange thing is that North Korea actually has a point right now. Still, it could investigate into their own human rights issues too.

The world's police force, the most powerful democracy, doesn't have the political oversight to prevent its intelligence operatives from overstepping the mark.

That scares me more than state-sanctioned rape, actually.

I never said it was, I said it wasn't a good thing. We have people in prison for the most trivial of fucking things, adding to that we hold people without trials and torture them we really don't seem that much better.

Oh of course. We're not gassing people, we're just shoving things up their ass.

That's so much better, of course.

One person is in the report who died from hypothermia.

listen to this guy, he speaks correctly
rather than focusing on one specific case, we should be advancing our nefarious plots to overthrow all the worlds governments.

Torturing people is never justice.

Sometimes it is. What else do you suggest? Let people like Breivik live a comfy life in prison with a flat screen TV and personal cook? If someone commits horrendous crimes he deserves a harsh punishment. Everything else would be unjust.

Torture removes any possibility of redemption. Why incentive is there to reform if torture is an accepted punishment? That sounds like incentive to double down and lash out harder at society.

"We're better than them" is not, has never been (an acceptable) and will hopefully never be an excuse to ignore problems at home.

As someone said earlier in the thread, what do you want? The "Better than Hitler" medal?
