That highly depends, in fairness. If somebody personally believes in Young Earth Creationism but does not force said opinion on others, I wouldn't consider that stupidity. Sure, it's wrong, but quiet faith is not something I'd be so arrogant in my beliefs to stand against. Pushing it on others however, is akin to idiotic zealotry (on either side of the argument) and not to be taken lying down.
