No one should not hit something that is physically weaker than, it is never right to hit a lady

I've always been confused by this, so enlightenment is necessary. Living in the 21st century, each gender is told to treat the other equally. Now if a man hits me intending to fight or humiliate me, I'm going to hit him back (never throw the first punch). Through the logic of treating each gender equally, should I not do the same to a woman?

I for one am split on the subject. On one hand I think women and men should treat each other a certain way (I don't cotton to men picking on women nearly as well as men on men). On the other hand, I really don't like the idea of someone having free reign to hit me with little to no consequence (let's be real, no one is going to take a slap or two from a woman to court).

Chivalry means nothing in this day and age, it was a terrible concept to begin with anyway (Let us blindly follow what the church says because it is always right. Yeah, what a great idea). All that matters is the law, and you have a right to defend yourself under the law. It's not my problem if she's weak, she assaulted someone and the law says the victim can defend themselves in response.
