I will be amazed he was able to choose a more tolerant religion despite his surroundings, I will admire his bravery, and I will feel sympathy because Pakistani Muslims on average are highly intolerant of other faiths. As a whole, Pakistan is uncivilized and many of the people are too. These are facts, they choose to be uncivilized and people will judge them badly until they decide let people practice their religion peacefully and cut down on the terrorist attacks. It is OK to hate those that hate you first.

The question I pose to you NSG is this... Should customers be allowed to request drivers by ethnicity? Should the cab company face charges for fulfilling the requests for "white drivers"? are there are any instances where you should be able to request a service based on someones race? could I ask to see a white doctor for instance?

I for one think is absolutely appalling and you shouldn't request drivers by the colour of their skin or cultural heritage. Although if the Cab company decides to fulfill the wishes of people who do then that's their decision and as far as I'm aware no law has been broken.

As a taxi dispatcher and phone operator I can attest that these requests are fairly common...

It mostly occurred in the Midwest and East Coast. The South wasn't really hit by it, due to the South's...er...unique racial politics when this was all starting.

And within the last 5-10 years, there has been a slight reversal of this. Black neighborhoods are dirt cheap, so whites short on cash have been moving into these neighborhoods. When whites move in, they generally do better upkeep of the homes and the property value of the neighborhood increases, meaning that the property tax increases. Since blacks are generally poorer, they can't afford the new prices, and move out as more whites move in. It's called gentrification, and it's actually been happening quite a lot in New York right now.

I would not be surprised if the Bronx is a rich, hipster yuppie hangout in 30 years.

Nah. There will be a general exodus of Silicon Valley types out of California entirely (hell it's already happening) due to California's harsh business laws. Most of them are going to Texas, Colorado, and Washington.

But, there is a bit of a slight internal migration from the Silicon Valley to San Francisco (in recent years, San Francisco has become an extremely expensive place to live), but it's still not an ideal place for us. Also, the Silicon Valley is soon going to have it's own non-white majority (Asians and Latinos (read: mestizos) will outnumber whites), and further down Latinos will outnumber everybody. We're on a sinking ship.
