In fact they're are many places just as troubled as Liberia, I say we annex them too! All shall be free under the might of Uncle Sam, for he is lord and knows what's best. One day the United States of America will be the United States of Earth!! America knows what's best, the rest of the world needs us to show them how it's done. Just look at how awesome the US is, the world would be a better place if it was just like us.

Well, I'm sorry that your ancestors had to go through that.
I don't think "annex" is the right word. I'm thinking of something that would be more like a crutch, helping hold up Liberia.

Dude, shut up. You're going in way too deep. Yes the world knows what's going on in West Africa and are trying to help, but I understand, Russia and ISIS's are taking up most of our resources and time. ISIS is #1 and Ebola is #2. So, we get it, you have made your point, now please do us a favor and shut up.

A few problems:
1) Texas chose to annex itself to the US because of its unsustainable debt. That wasn't a conquest, it was an agreement which in the short run actually was significantly damaging to the United States economically, though in the long run has turned out to be a good thing.
2) Puerto Rico is far better off as a part of the US than independent. The majority of the population is quite happy as an American territory, and they benefit from it enormously. If anything, the US would do well to rid itself of PR, since they're a significant economic drain.
3) The annexation of the Philippines wasn't as cut and dry as you may be led to believe by your socialist teachers. We didn't want to annex the Philippines, in fact the only reason it was taken at all was because Theodore Roosevelt had fantasies of an American Empire and using the area as a coaling station and hub for trade in East Asia. We essentially took the Philippines because we gained them in a war which happened by accident (Attacking the Philippines was under Roosevelt's orders which he was technically not legally allowed to give, but it couldn't be undone after initiated), then didn't quite know what to do with them when we got them. It seems we were bogged down by the Aguinaldo insurgency because the McKinley administration wasn't quite sure how to handle it, since there was no concept of giving them independence, but we never really wanted them either. We eventually held on to them as a bulwark against the increasingly aggressive and expansionist Japanese.
Then it's a lie. Everything Fox News says is a lie.
Even true things once said on Fox News become lies.

NSG ain't a place where you are likely to change the world: you are more likely to alienate most of us with neocolonialism than persuade us to accept neocolonialism because you believe Liberians can't run themselves.
So as a fellow teen (17 at that), let me say, you are very idealistic. Heck, I am a bit idealistic sometimes, but unlike you, I am not that idealistic. The only territorial changes I want to see is the possible annexation of St. Pierre and Miquelon, Alaska, and maybe Greenland into the Dominion of Canada, and I support those that involve referenda (i.e. I recognize the results of the Crimean and Scottish referenda). The people of both sides need to make the decision, not one person.

the letter would probably be read by some aide and immediately thrown in the trash, so it's no big deal.
