Sweden is well beyond saving no matter what you vote for. It's the nation Enoch Powell accidentally described when he said "a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre".

Relative to the Social Democrats it is good, in the sense that diet Cola might be better than regular Cola if you are concerned about sugar intake. But I would prefer to avoid softdrinks.

I can't vote there anyway.

In all honesty, something I could see right now is both the Social Democrats and the Moderates co-operating to make a strong government instead of bickering, they have both been drifting towards the centre for ages and really are pretty similar today, it would block both the crazy Sweden Democrats and the crazy feminists!

I don't want to risk to go off topic, but Distruzio knows how to defend Monarchy in the "Do you agree with democracy thread".

I'm asking you, not him.

It's better for society as a whole to have a say in the way that people are governed. Democratic governments are accountable, and have to listen to the people. An absolute monarch can basically do what he/she wants, which can lead to big problems for the people.

Caveat: I am a non-Swede.

I would be a Left Party voter (though, before neoliberal austerity swept even the left-of-center, I would probably have been a Social-Democrat). That said, I hope Feminist Initiative does well.

Is there some oldschool hardcore marxist-leninist or maoist party?

If not, I have no one to support in Sweden :P

(But its not problem only in Sweden: Most western european and scandinavian left parties are disgusting centrists or pro-capitalist liberal pussies :p )

"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

Jesus Christ, I can't actually believe a party called "Feminist Initiative" exists and has seats in the European Parliament.

I find it so funny that nearly all of their parties have something associated with leftism in their names.

Yeah, that's why one of the nationstates categories is "Scandinavian Liberal Paradise".

It's not like they aren't.

Especially in Sweden, one of the most developed (HDI-wise) and progressive places on Earth.
