As much as I'd rather Mojang stay indie, I have to sympathise with Notch and co. Minecraft has effectively revolutionised the gaming industry, and I don't think anybody, much less Mojang, could have anticipated that.

You can be certain Minecraft will remain as gigantic as it is now, and will be in safe hands with a powerful, if not necessarily favourable, company. It's too big to simply brush aside, and (hopefully) Microsoft knows that.

Microsoft said they would maintain the game across all current platforms.

That means Linux, iOS, Android, and Mac are all safe.

They didn't usurp shit, they offered Mojang a deal and Mojang accepted.
And Mojang developed ONE good PC game. The other two were subpar.
Mojang is a pretty lame company compared to some other indie developers, anyways.
