US fast food is often overpriced (price per pound). You are better off making your burgers and fries at home. Quick and easy and very little effort exerted. Healthier and much cheaper and better tasting (and I am not even a good cook, an ambitious cook can do wonders).

For pizza, Little Caesars is a great value though. I went there once a week.

Fast food is cool, I have Mcdonalds twice a week (I work there on weekends so I get my free meals obv) and I usually have a fillet o fish, my favourite "burger" ever. In terms of other fast food, I enjoy fried Chicken, Dominos Pizza, Chinese/Indian etc, but my absolute favourite are Kebabs, usually a large Chicken Donner.

Don't fool yourself, Burger King is just as bad, but unlike Mcdonalds, isn't affordable at all.

I went the other way tbh, I used to always buy cheap Pizza from local businesses, but I literally found myself being sick after going to about 8 different small "local" Pizza places, so in the end I just bucked up and ordered from Dominos again, and I never feel sick from there and I never hurl up afterwards.

I also often find myself getting sulphur burps when I buy chicken or Burgers from small businesses, so if I get Chicken I stick to KFC even though it's 5x more expensive than all the local Chicken places. Sometimes corporations just do things better.

The burgers are more substantial at BK, but the fries lack compared to McD's.

Depends really, nothing beats the Fillet o Fish for me, and for people who like that kind of thing, the Big Mac is sort of unbeatable. Burger King does try much harder with the types of Burgers they offer, but they always fail to beat the old classics IMO, you can release as many posh Angus beef burgers as you want, but it'll never take the top spot away from the Big Mac. Also, the prices are pretty extortionate, a large Mcdonalds meal for me is cheaper than a regular Burger King meal. One think I do hate about Mcdonalds though, is that they don't offer fucking mayonnaise dips, where as BK does.

No. I like to know the animals and veggies I'm eating, sorry.
Still, I can enjoy a kebab or two, but what I can't enjoy is the burnt oil, half frozen "meat" sizzling in the never-cleaned-before pans or rude part time teen workers who hand the nuggets out in, for example, McDonald across the street.
I prefer to have no comments on the "healthiness" of food and I criticize most of the fast food restaurant I know purely from the stance of a self-proclaimed gourmet.

I like fast food, but I try to keep consumption of it under wraps. Mainly because I love how delicious some of the stuff is.
My favorite burger place is Carl's Jr. I can't get enough of the Westerns.
Then it's Del Taco for the chili cheese fries.
My 3rd is KFC for the party bowl.

Now if only I could fuse all 3 of these together........heart attack worth.

Bad. Very bad.

Especially the poor's reliance on them, and the negative health effects they have.
They also have no nutritional or gastronomical value.

I strongly support a fast food tax, and a reduction of taxes on healthy food alternatives.
Especially now that with the economic crisis, more and more French people are relying on McDo to feed themselves/their families.

So to help working individuals who are too poor to buy "proper food" you support an intrusive tax that will raise the cost of this fast food, thus negatively effecting the poor who have "no choice" but to buy fast food (oh and causing countless job losses within the fast food industry).

Though ignoring the effects of such a proposal, the entire ethos behind it is incorrect. Fast food is usually pretty bad value for money, a burger, fries and a soda for four pounds isn't good value for the poor, or anyone for that matter, especially when you can quite easily feed two people on about 25 pounds a week, and 4 people for around 30-35 pounds a week, assuming you shop cheap (I've done it myself, the numbers aren't out of my ass). If poor people in France are turning to Mcdonalds, the poor of France must be pretty wealthy, because I could quite easily afford 5 meals for the price of two regular Mcdonalds meals.

Oh, I dislike it.
It tastes (in my opinion,) cheap, and is often greasy and fatty. I have only ever had a McDonalds twice, but both of those times were awful.

Yes, I do. In return, I support tax incentives to purchase healthy food. Therefore the poor won't have to buy fast food, they would be able to afford actual, healthy food. And I do support job loses in the fast food industry, an industry that pays minimum wage while producing dozens of billions in profits. I would much rather those people be employed in another field. The fast food industry is in no way a boon to the nation.

The affordability of fast food is only part of the new trend in its desirability, as fast food isn't that affordable in France anyway, especially in comparison to say US prices.
Its quick preparation and consumption are other reasons for its new popularity. You get to waste as little time as possible on consuming nutrients, and return to work as soon as possible.

It is also cheaper than getting the ingredients for actual meals, and wasting time to make them, and making portions to feed the entire family.

I'm a big fan of fast food. I only eat it rarely, though. My favorite has got to be Arby's, though I like Subway, too.
