They also have no nutritional or gastronomical value.
I strongly support a fast food tax, and a reduction of taxes on healthy food alternatives.
Especially now that with the economic crisis, more and more French people are relying on McDo to feed themselves/their families.

So to help working individuals who are too poor to buy "proper food" you support an intrusive tax that will raise the cost of this fast food, thus negatively effecting the poor who have "no choice" but to buy fast food (oh and causing countless job losses within the fast food industry).
Though ignoring the effects of such a proposal, the entire ethos behind it is incorrect. Fast food is usually pretty bad value for money, a burger, fries and a soda for four pounds isn't good value for the poor, or anyone for that matter, especially when you can quite easily feed two people on about 25 pounds a week, and 4 people for around 30-35 pounds a week, assuming you shop cheap (I've done it myself, the numbers aren't out of my ass). If poor people in France are turning to Mcdonalds, the poor of France must be pretty wealthy, because I could quite easily afford 5 meals for the price of two regular Mcdonalds meals.
