Kind of reminds me, I was watching a show on Nat Geo about this family of "Old Believers" who fled the Soviet government in the late '20's because they thought that industrialization, along with the various social and healthcare related reforms it brought, were against God. When they were found in the 1960's, only one was left, who said that all of their relatives had died of some disease (can't remember what it was, but it was one of the ones that vaccines revolutionized treatment for), only to have the Soviet survey team that found them tell them that that disease was easily curable and preventable as early as the mid-'30's back in Western-USSR.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), we are not sentient cats, so it is really doubtful that this vaccine that works only on cats (I think) can serve as proof that all vaccines cause cancer. So unless you are 1000 Cats, you are unlikely to get cancer by this vaccine.

A couple of manifestations stand out. One is the prevalence of measles in Europe -- especially Britain -- and the U.S. Measles is endemic in the underdeveloped world because of the unavailability of the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine.

But in the developed world it's an artifact of the anti-vaccination movement, which has associated the vaccine with autism. That connection, promoted by the discredited British physician Andrew Wakefield and the starlet Jenny McCarthy, has been thoroughly debunked. But its effects live on, as the map shows.

Vaccine panic also plays a role in the shocking incidence in the U.S. of whooping cough, also beatable by a common vaccine. Researchers have pointed to the effect of "non-medical exemptions" from legally required whooping cough immunizations -- those premised on personal beliefs rather than medical reasons -- as a factor in a 2010 outbreak of whooping cough in California.

Personal feelings aside concerning my internet arch-nemesis. I knew the issue was bad yet this is amazingly ridiculous especially the fact the movement has not died with the death of the so called "Vaccine causes Autism" theory reported by so called "doctor" Andrew Wakefield who was stripped of his title. Unfortunately he managed to flee to Texas (somehow someone thought it was a good idea) to avoid possible charges/suits.
Really not that hard to wonder why though.

I got vaccinated by the local council, only side effect: a little painful lump at the injection site.
I am also offended when people wonder whether i got autism from the MMR vaccine, i mean, why are people so desperate to find out why there little darling baby is a little different. So what?!? This MMR thing has really damaged the public, both on the views of Autism (and the families who happened to get their kids vaccinated) and the vaccine. It is a good product, and cant cause autism, as autism is a disorder, and therefore cannot be caused by a pathogen but could be caused by say, a chemical inbalance in the brain, or the environment the child lives in.
