Those of us who are over 40 (ahem) seem to be less obsessed with the whole shaving and/or manscaping your map of Tasmania thing than the younger demographic.
Whether that's specifically tied into expectations brought about by the greater accessibility of internet pornography now than when I was a lad (as is apparently sometimes suggested), I couldn't honestly say; but there does very much appear to be a generational divide here over expectations.

Granted, keeping things like underarm or pubic hair neatly trimmed can go a long way toward making it easy to clean. Long hair in places that are going to be confined inside clothing and rubbing a lot is more likely to get matted if left completely un-managed.

They don't get it because they are in their comfort zones. Not having any hair is healthier then having hair.

Very true. As for myself I only really shave my facial hair, I don't like my face feeling like a cactus.

Hair collects dirt faster then having no hair, hair collect oil faster, hair becomes matted, hair is dead cells.
Hair is literally dead material hanging off your body. It is dirtier then having hair, and the cleaner someone is, the healthier they are.

Do you have some sort of phobia?
The health effects of having hair are completely negligible.
And you realize that your top layer of skin is a bunch of dead cells too, right?
You gonna cut off your skin too?
