Quite often. I live in a small town. One bank in town has been robbed twice in the last year by armed criminals. There are still assaults, shootings and other violent crimes. I work in another small town at night. I hear multiple gun shoots every night.

Simple fact is that nearly all the school shootings, or most shootings, that the media make a big deal of are in small towns like mine. Crime is everywhere. Poverty doesn't play as much into it.

I jaywalk all the time. Sometimes I drive a few miles over the speed limit. My garage is slightly larger than my city zoning laws allow. Yet, I have never been called a criminal until now.
I don't particularly feel like a criminal. Others certainly don't see me as one.
Sometimes I take the law into my own hands. Once I cut down my neighbor's shrub because it was growing onto the sidewalk, which violates city zoning laws. Does this make me a vigilante?
