Have you read what is said on other news sites? The one you posted is blatantly anti-police. What I read is he opened the package the gun was in, then proceeded to walk around the store with it. Scaring other shoppers and then would not drop it when told to. It had nothing to do with his race.

If they're trained they should be able to tell the difference between an actual firearm and an airsoft gun, and certainly shouldn't be so trigger happy they're firing on a guy carrying the latter. If that's "training" it's incompetent training.

Pretty sure this has more to do with a guy walking around with what looks like a gun in the place that just experienced a mass shooting. Today people are afraid of other people with guns, they shouldn't be but there have been so many shootings.... it's hard not to be careful. It's sad that this man died, but I don't blame the guy for calling the police. He was afraid. Crazy isn't specific to one race, and neither is racism. People who can't look past race for answers, are usually pretty racist. A big black guy with a fire arm can be just as intimidating as a big white guy with a fire arm.

According to the article, after he was down, Crawford tried to get up and go for either the officer or try to grab the gun again. Sounds pretty threatening to me. Whether it was real or not, you can't risk losing a few police officers. Hell, people can say that a real gun isn't real as much as they like! For all they know, he could've been lying before grabbing the gun and shooting them.

They don't. All airsoft guns have distinctive orange tips, and distinguishing markers on them, as required by US Law.

They constantly go up against people who could be legitimately threatening them with firearms. If you don't put down your gun like object as soon as they tell you to they will react.
