If you cut out meat, unless it's some vegetarian petfood specifically made for your animal's species (and I don't know of any - all of the wet petfoods I know contain some meat, and most of the dry petfoods I assume do the same), you will kill them.

I was thinking whether I should stop adding meat in his diet to cut costs in food and just turn him vegan. Though I'm not sure because I've read some articles that say its not good for omnivores, but others claim that there's nothing wrong with turning my pet vegan and its actually easier and better for his health..
Should I stop feeding him meat altogether, or stick to the regular meal.

That depends on the species of animal.
Dogs can thrive on a proper vegan diet, and rats can too if you give them enough copper from seeds, supplements or pellots.
Each species will have unique needs (sometimes the needs even change based on sex or age) so please research the right diet for your specific animal. If there is a safe vegan option then choose it
