You mean like "negro" or "nigger"? The government, for one, can decide to remove it if they really wanted to, not really censorship. When it is removed from private works, that is censorship.

It depends on why and how it's being removed.

Example: My friend wrote a script for a short film he was making, and was listing the profiles of actors/extras he needed, and when he was listing their race, he listed "cracker" for all of the white ones, as a joke. When he actually printed the script out for his personal use during the shooting, he replaced cracker with white. This is not censorship. This is acknowledging that sometimes things are inappropriate.

For the record, this was a white, country boy.

No one's forcing you. I use the term "illegal", "nigger", etc. freely. I haven't been censored by the government or even the mods for it. Really, I've been reported for swearing and saying "nigger" but I have not been banned or even warned for it. But if someone asks you to stop using that? That's asking you to adhere to PC. Of course, their standard of PC is different than you and I violate individual standards for it everyday. Knowing their standard of PC is what you're supposed to understand.

For example, you wouldn't use "nigger" in a party full of black people. That is rude and you should know better. You should know saying that word is not PC for everyone in that gathering.
