IIRC, God added a date to that promise. Something like "you'll get it just before the world ends".

Which btw would be a reason to be against them having it on several levels.

The native Jews and Muslims were living in relative peace until the European Zionists arrived. And what makes you think that the 10% Jewish population had more right to the land then the 85% Palestinian population? Because god told you so? Please...

No, because the "Palestinians" were descendants of the Muslim invaders.

Literally everyone, ever is some descendant of some description of invader, except maybe people living where the human race originated, which we're not even sure of where it is.

And Jews were the descendants of Mesopotamian invaders and invaded and genocided the Canaan again upon returning from Egypt, if the biblical account, which is dubious at best, is taken to be accurate.

Yes I am. I'd like some kind of legal documentation, internationally recognised by an independent court of law, that God promised the Jews this land, and that God had prior ownership of said land.

In short, I'd like to see God's bond for the state of Israel. Otherwise, I'm just going to suggest that like every other piece of land claimed by some religion or another, it really should be considered as belonging to the people existing there now. Not people who may or may not have existed there at some point in the distant past, and who think that their special interpretation of their special book is somehow legally binding.

Let me rephrase that.
In the Jewish faith, the Jews returning to Israel is a sign of the impending "end of days". It is not something that can just happen at a random time.

Yes, well, getting political recognition for a Greater Israel and redrawing the Middle East "because God promised" is not going to work anytime soon.

And if we gave every culture back land that was stolen from them....well it would be impossible.

States should not exist, but a Universal Socialist Republic of Humanity. While they do exist (which they will for a while), they shouldn't be based on religions or ethnicity, but on people making their lives in a place. The whole concept of having a state for a certain religion, or for a certain ethnicity, is utterly sick, and doomed to degenerate into tragedy.

Because it's a racist and nationalistic ideology. When you promote the Jews as the "chosen people", trouble will come. What's more, there's really no need for it. Judaism is a tiny religious group. If the Jews get their own homeland, then why shouldn't the atheists? Or the Sikhs?

Don't give a shit about Zionism is probably the best way I could be my view of Zionism. While I sympathize with the Jews in an effort to form a Jewish state I disagree with many if the methods they use to do so. Not even the methods but just the Arrogance of them going "yeah go fuck yourself" kinda gets me. If course that not in every case.

Even if organized religion eventually collapses, human beings will always turn to some form of ritualistic devotion. Such behavior is literally an evolutionary characteristic.
