Everyone's talking about baptism, so I got a question:

Is it a bad thing to be unbaptized at my age? I'm 25.

Unbaptized = not baptized; as in, I have never been baptized by a church, ever.

Brain fart; I read that as you wanting to get unbaptized, rather then as you not being baptized yet at all :P

What does RCIA entail?

You will get an education about Catholic doctrine and tradition. It will bring you into the Church. It will actually make you a member.

Soldati senza confini wrote:Everyone's talking about baptism, so I got a question:

It is dangerous because baptism is necessary for salvation. You should be baptized as soon as you can.

Any reasons as to why is it necessary for salvation? What I know is that it is only right for us to follow Jesus' example and get baptized (which is where I disagree with certain Protestants who say we shouldn't) but I don't see what key element of the baptism ceremony isn't a symbolism rather than a surefire way of achieving salvation.

In other words, "As soon as possible" sounds too cataclysmic for me, and I'd like to know your reasons to sound so... "distressed" on the matter.

So you mean he's a whimsical douche?

Look, if you're going to say "God doesn't give a fuck what you think" then you must think he's the greatest asshole reality ever conceived. And, well, I don't think the Bible actually teaches that, does it?

Because it is in the Holy Bible, in John 3:5 and Mark 16:16.

I always find this line of thinking tedious. It's nothing more than a cudgel meant to silence all reasonable criticism.

Mind you, I quite like cudgels. They make a wonderful mess of things. They're just not particularly useful in an honest discussion.

Actually there's a lot about not trusting your own understanding but trusting in God.

You have to understand, the biblical definitions of Good and Evil, are literally whatever God says they are. God decides what is good, what is just. Not insignificant meatbags such as we.

No. Not "bad". It'd simply be better if you were. Then again, if you're not religious then I wouldn't worry about it.
