Speaking of football video games. I like that manager mode in Fifa 14 has you actually decide some stuff about your manager (suit colour etc) even though they are like never ever shown on screen.

Same also goes for FIFA 13, too, and maybe FIFA 12.

Try as I might, I just can't get into manager mode on FIFA. My RL friends all play it, and I'm so bad at it. I wish they'd just come on over to PES and Football Manager instead!

The Master League was ruined for me when they changed it from the default four leagues to the leagues of Europe (and using the Champions League on its own). Although I'll admit it was a much simpler existence.

I've played PES 2012 and 2013, and in my opinion the shooting mechanic is just horrible. You need to hold the button just the perfect amount to get it past the keeper, and if you do it too soft, easy save for the keeper, and if you even press the button slightly harder than the perfect amount, you blast it into the crowd.

I just can't get into FM actually. I'm not the tactician I thought I was, and get thrashed around every corner.

There's obvious mistakes like the keeper saving every time, and my defense not being up to the task, but no matter what I try I can't seem to fix it.

My favorite manager mode in FIFA was 08 on the PC. You could upgrade your stadium, your physios, violate FFP by paying outrageous wages, the whole thing. The economics of that manager mode is something I really miss.

FIFA 13 on the Wii. My brother ended up with a season budget of 2 billion pounds after about 10 seasons with City. On the Wii U, his City team has a transfer budget in excess of £700 million, and a wage budget of over £3 million (on top of the 2 or so million he pays at the moment).

Well, Antonio Conte's resigned from Juve. He'll probably go to the Italian nationals, but I probably would've brought Mancini in.

The good old Italian switcheroo - Mancini out at Galatasaray, Prandelli out from Italy and into Galatasaray, Conte out from Juve and to Italy, maybe Mancini in to Juve?

That would make sense, seeing as Mancini's had huge success in Italy with Inter. I wonder if his City job will hurt him, though, seeing as he lost the locker room and all. No doubt that Juve have big egos in the locker room as well, with Pogba so vocal in the media about United and Tevez with his locker room "presence" in the Argentine national team.

I can see Spaletti. He played some nice stuff at Roma and just got the sack from Zenit. My ultimate dark horse would be Deschamps.

That would be me. He's a solid player; captained us most of last season on the pitch, even if Zat Knight still held the captaincy in title. Had a few shaky moments last season, and he's got his critics, but I rate him highly. Having met him a couple of times over the last year, he seems like a genuinely decent guy as well; he got a nasty cut over the eye in an aerial challenge against Yeovil, but he was all smiles after the game, joking about the cut and happy to have pictures with me and a few other people. Glad we picked him up permanently.

Glad to hear it. You know, if I ever decide to start supporting an English team, Bolton will be high on my list (along with Stoke and Forest). Not likely to happen anytime soon - you can't really pick a team to support, it just happens, you know?

Yeah, I agree with you on that mate; took me a few years of living in Bolton before I started supporting the Wanderers. Am I right in thinking you're from the States ?? If so, I can see why you keep your eye on Bolton, with Holden and Ream over here.

Speo always was a good player, just didn't really have the physical or mental attributes that were required by our central midfield at the time, let alone now.

Good lad, though. Really nice bloke.

Yeah, I'm American. Holden and Ream are a part of it (gutted for Holden, still), but I quite like your style of play, too.

Yeah, I don't think he would've been right for Liverpool, but he's fitting in very well with us. Glad you lot were happy to sell.

I've heard that Holden could be back at some point this season. Then again, I've heard that for the last three years so I'm not too hopeful. It is a shame though; he's a top class player.

Nowt to be embarassed about; me and a few others on this thread share that affliction :P

I have a burning hatred for Stoke; to do with the fans though, not the style of football.

I've not noticed it; he tends to be on the recieving end of hospital passes a lot though. That might just have been having Zat Knight in the squad though; he played football like the ball was going to give him some kind of disease.
