If Arsenal loses to Monaco (Monaco leads 3-1 with away goals so unless Arsenal scores at least 3-0 in Monaco stadium they will be out) then there will be no English teams in top 8. Proves my opinion that La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 are better than Premier League. And both English teams will be eliminated by French teams. :lol2:

But that's not right, is it? Those Leagues you mentioned have a handful of decent teams - Ligue 1 has literally only 2 decent teams, and even then Arsenal had to put up the shittiest performances ever to lose to one of them. Ligue 1 is a farce domestically, La Liga isn't much better. Other than 5 or 6 decent teams (only 3 of which challenge for the title), Spain's top flight consists largely of second-rate teams, as does the Bundesliga (Bayern, Dortmund, then a handful of others). Serie A is slightly better, although the monopoly of titles by Juventus could suggests otherwise.

What you're suggesting is that the highest echelons of La Liga, Bundesliga & Serie A (I'm not even going to count Ligue 1 because that's just bollocks) is superior to the Premier League, and to an extent, you're right. But it's only really a small group of teams that supposedly make it 'better', as opposed to the Leagues as a whole, where I believe the Premier League will win out every time.

Maybe whole Premier League is mediocre because as it seems Premier League best teams have really tough time beating other leagues bests. This may mean that best of premier wouldn't be able to win titles in other leagues. It's all guesses and hypotheses though. Ligue 1 would be probably easiest for them though because besides PSG and Monaco they are the weakest of the 4 (excluding Premier League).

The world's statistically worst international football team, Bhutan, have kicked off qualification for Russia 2018 by defeating Sri Lanka 1-0.

Two goals in two minutes for Villa. What the heck has just happened?
EDIT: Never mind that - 4 away goals in one half!?!?!

new theory: Real Madrid's "slump" coinciding with Villa's recent performances can only mean that Villa is indeed Real Madrid in disguise.

First time in 16 games we lost, today. Puts us likely to go up in third because the two teams chasing need to drop 7 and 6 points respectively in their last 10 games.

It's actually really interesting, this has happened twice now. Do the players lose interest the year after winning the title? Can the manage no longer motivate them? Very strange.

Phew. NAC Breda 1-0 Go Ahead Eagles.

I'm so happy. A goal in the 91st minute. We're another step away from direct relegation here (unless Feyenoord is failing once again). And also closer towards safety.

I always think that you're an Eagles fan. Then I remember that any eagles would likely carry off yon brave sheepie, and then I worry.

My my my that was a very important win for you today wasn't it? Good shit.

I'm not an Eagles fan. They're not really on my radar (as either love or hate), but when we play against them, yeah, they have to lose :p

It's a very important win. We need those points >_>

And as a result of the 1-0 loss to Burnley they are in danger of being overtaken by the teams below them. Realistically, I suppose, that's more just Arsenal but if ManU beat Spurs then they're not far off it either...

No way Man Utd overtakes them in the standings, we'll smash Spurs and look good and then lose 1-0 the next game and Louis Van Gaal will blame Falcao.

Chelsea vs Southampton was very good. Better match than I expected. Southampton was definitely better team in this match in my opinion and Chelsea is lucky that they got 1-1.

Come get brunch with us, they said.
Salmon Benedict is the special of the day, it comes with two free sides this morning, they said.

Thanks, but I'm going to stay in and watch Man Utd v Spurs. Could be a good one, I said.

That Salmon Benedict is sounding delicious right now. With sides of hash browns and a nice bowl of cottage cheese with pears? Ugh. Bad decision.

1st half by Manchester United looked very promising. As dominant as they should be.

At least the commentators in the MLS are as equally mystified by the importance of intent in the LOAF as English ones. Harsh that that foul got a red - it was just a tangle of legs - but it was still a trip, therefore a foul, therefore a red card for DOGSO.
