He did do a lot of good for Albania.

Then again, he also killed and tortured hundreds of thousands and forced atheism on the masses.

So you got your good and your bad.

How? More people living longer with a higher quality of life is not outweighed by the bad.

He gave the people more rights than they had ever known; the right to an education, the right to healthcare, the right to employment, etc. These advancements were particularly in women's rights.

One cannot have liberty, and would struggle to have life, without healthcare, employment, and education. They are rights.

They already had right to employment.

One worth paying.

One could say the same about the exploitation of resources from the third world so that the West may advance further and further, perhaps even one day developing the technology needed to leave this rock.

No, they didn't; they had no rights at all. The women were slaves, and the men were illiterate tenant-farmers.

You know after talking with a few folks who know far more about Albania then i ever wanted to, most agreed that Hoxha left his Nation bankrupt, in economic stagnation and was a big fan of letting the KGB into Albania to well...Do what they did. So, Labeling him a Communist Nutter who had a fetish for mass murder, earlier seems accurate for more reasons then i initially thought.

Speaking of KGB, I much preferred their War Time Acronym, NKVD :P Sounds cooler.

No, he's not talking about the Sigurimi, he's talking about the KGB being allowed into the country, which didn't happen.

Oh i'm sorry, him getting pissed off at Peaceful coexistence, with the West being preached by the USSR makes everything he did with them magically not happen right? Honestly he was a cult of personality dictator who got pissed his backers wanted him to be a farmer, and then he proceeded to take it out his people as a nutjob.

He's a pathetic example of a Leader, Honestly i would label Gaddafi as better then Hoxha, at least he didn't lead Libya into economic stagnation and on the brink of bankruptcy. They both butchered their own people, but Gaddafi gave them a better standard of living while he did, He didn't you know. Waste his countries resources on a worthless system of bunkers that were ultimately as tactically effective as throwing a rock at a main battle tank.

1) The KGB didn't get to go into Albania because they would not have been trusted. During Stalin's time, the NKVD may have.

2) Hoxha did give his people a better standard of living than they had before.

3) The Death rate went down under Hoxha.

The terms 'Evil Dictator' and 'Hero of the Proletariat' are both subjective, what we can say is that he is a oppressive authoritarian.

Anyway, Hoxha, as all of Mao's lackeys, was a class traitor and a psycho tyrant.

Mao had his flaws, but I wouldn't classify him as a "class traitor," (which is about as legitimate a term as "race traitor.") or a psycho tyrant. He wasn't a sociopath like Stalin or Pol Pot.

So? Any basic social reforms could do that. You can't attribute those to communism. You can attribute the mass deaths, the immense poverty, his failed autarky programs, <add more typical Communist things here>.
