Not at all. Secession is a concept that goes beyond the US civil war
You can believe in secession on the value that you shouldn't have to be part of a union if you don't want to; regardless of your reason for leaving. If you take the slavery element out of secession, say it was GENUINELY about states rights then you can't argue with them choosing to leave.
