Whilst browsing the Ukraine-NATO relations article on Wikipedia, I found something interesting:

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin allegedly declared at a NATO-Russia summit in 2008 that if Ukraine joined NATO his country could contend to annex the Ukrainian East and Crimea.[78]

So I guess now it's time for Ukraine to join NATO, according to Putin himself??

During a NATO conference in Hungarian parliament on 20 November 2008 Deputy Assistant Secretary-General Aurelia Bouchez said: "We should not make a choice between NATO enlargement and Russia as we need both"[79][80] and NATO's Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer told a conference in Spain twelve days later: "The emergence of independent states within the former Soviet space is a reality. The ability of these states to determine their own future is a litmus test for the new Europe. Do we have to choose between good relations with Russia and further enlargement? ..which doesn't make much sense. So basically he though they could achieve both??

Yup, get Japan, South Korea, Israel and Australia on and we can have a party. All of these have some ties to NATO already, but it would be nice to see them as official partners.

They won't hold off on the oil profits even if the US accepted a one state solution that would give Israel dejure the entire Middle East. Having Saudi Arabia and Iran throw a hissy fit would be a + if anything.

For so long, Mankind has been plagued by division. Division by culture, creed, skin color, religion and nationality. These very divisions have been the cause of most human conflicts. You should support that too. It may not end all conflicts, but the reductions of Man on Man violence will be at an all time low when the entire planet gets administered by one governing body.

Just like they withheld from doing in the 70's. No wait, I distinctly reading that they launched an embargo. And they can sell to other rising economies...like China.

They already do, and unlike the 70's, their entire economy is now super-buffed by oil. To embargo their greatest customer would be to subject the entire world, including themselves, to a huge inflation drop added in with an insurmountable deficit which is not a good thing if you're hyper-modernizing.
