NATO needs to be disbanded. That is all I will say.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

I go with the first choice. I'd like NATO to include Japan, South Korea and Australia.

As far as I know Finland made its promises to never be a threat to Leningrad. Since Leningrad is now St. Petersburg, that treaty is no longer valid.

Yet there are people living here whom legitly think that Russia would send troops as response to our any attempts to come closer with NATO. :/

It`s an unlikely occurrence to have NATO expanded outside of Europe. Many European nations wouldn't want or do not posses the commitment required to effectively defend nations like South Korea, which is key to the existence of NATO.

I'm against describing it as an alliance of Western nations if it does. One, not all the countries listed are Western. Two, they might be fine with NATO and whatnot but not with being labelled or pressured into being Western.

Among other things.

But yeah, if they want to, they should be allowed to join.

Name ought to be changed though.


But to point, out there is almost no chance of this happening. Nor will it go down very well with China or Russia. And a lot of other complications. Basically a no go.

Preferably would like to see a chain of alliances instead or something.

I support this. But it is in many ways redundant. US ties to South Korea, Japan, Australia are already stronger than intra-NATO alliances, methinks.

It should change it's name first. Perhaps ETO (Earth Treaty Organisation) or ITO (International Treaty Organisation).
