Your suggestion is a specific standard of virtue.

Should the State enforce traditonal morality to protect the people from themselves? I think the state is required to, virtue makes people- people.
"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

Equal in what way, exactly? Not everyone woman is everyone man's equal, it's impossible for the sexes to be the same in any meaningful biological and social sense. In fact, it was once said that when a woman became a "man's equal", she becomes his superior. Heterosexuals of the opposite sex have competing interests. It's written in our dimorphism.

She already does, I am no God.

Holy shit in a basket.
I have heard other sexist things, but this takes the entire cake.

I don't care for men's rights movements or any rights movement, for that matter. Both of their aims are silly to me. I'm a traditional gender role advocate.Alizeria wrote:Shie wrote:I said nothing sexist.
Listen mate... I'm no feminist. I'm generally pretty old-fashioned in terms of things I value. Controversially, I even tend to sympathise with men's rights movements.
But even I can see that what you said was blatantly sexist. You're advocating for the social control of women, a separate set of rules for them and, in short, advocating for a set of values which would see them treated as second class citizens.
That is the very definition of sexism.
If you are a sexist, just grow some balls and say it. But you are delusional if you think you're not sexist.
