Hades was (mostly*) a boring place were souls could only have conversations with each other. Elysium was pretty much like Christian (Catholic) heaven and a "heroes only" place.
*There was a small special place for torment but it was rather insignificant.

John 3:1
"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD

SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN
HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE
EVERLASTING LIFE.''
Doesn't perish mean be destroyed? Everlasting life means eternal life, doesn't it?
Matthew 7:13-14
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.''
Destruction, of course, can't be eternal, because if it is, it's not destruction.
Why punish dissenting voices? Hell isn't what I think it is because it most likely doesn't exist.
Also the Bible continously refers to heaven as 'everlasting life' (see verses above), while hell is called 'death' and 'perishing'.

that's the GREEK part, the Christian part has eternal torment pretty much right from the beginning.

Darfur happens to be part of a democratizing republic in south Sudan (compared to the North Sudan who are a bunch of slave mongering war whores). At least there they fought against the genocidal regime who employed militias to cleanse the regions christian, sufi muslim, and animist populace for the sake of resources. Saudi Arabia is a stagnant theocratic regime reliant on foreign lust for oil and geopolitical privilege (ergo it won't change).

Actually, most churches are following the bible pretty accurately (or try to find loopfiles in it to prove their case, but that's another thing), it's some biggoted priests-politicians that ignore bible doctrine.

"Politics is the realm of whores, liars, damn liars, and murderers willing to do anything to make it fuck politics"
That comes to mind when you say that .
