That's not funny. It's really insulting.
Again, they might sound old, but that's only because the problems they're fighting against are very, very old. I mean, what do you suggest they do to look better? Color their not-illegal banners pink and purple instead of red and black? Use sms and slacktivist methods instead of work on the streets? >:(

It's shallow for you to be insulted like that. I'm looking at their blindness (wrongly applied Maoist perspective) they are into, not their physical appearances or their activities. If they are more formal enough rather than just go in the streets and hoist a parade of flags, that'l be great. If they are really fighting for democracy, then why don't they perform, as an organization, with the best kind of democracy which is parliamentary democracy, instead of militant activism?

They're not entirely blind. Most of the people on those streets are in fact social democrats, not Maoist, er, pigs. You're generalizing a massive demographic.
And yes, they do do all those formal things too. Obviously, you only hear about them from the media; in fact, they've tried pushing for a lot of laws ignored by the government and media and such. To insinuate that all they do is walk down the streets is really insulting to all the efforts they've put up in other fronts.
You're assuming that all they do is militant activism, and that's why I'm really annoyed. Well, that, and the fact that you're saying that militant activism is at any rate wrong; they're not even breaking the law with what they're doing!

Most Filipinos like to judge the success of a movement by the sheer amount of 'noise' they're able to make, which is daft and half-baked. Nothing is wrong with militant activism, but it's pointless if it in itself is the end goal - which shouldn't be the case -, which more often than not is how most movements in the Philippines end up. Such is the only possible outcome with a general public as fickle and they are, submissive to the sum of the bandwagon and crab mentalities. They'll cling onto anything any edgy opposition or administration proponent can throw at them.

Sadly most activists here seem to be trying to make a violent version of EDSA I and II. And constructive criticism on the politicians does not reach them at the very least.

Not just that. They don't offer a sound alternative solutions to their own grievances. The general public, while not showing any signs, are getting tired of them. I saw one militant urging social media users to join their cause by doing some sort of stuff (changing profile pictures, I guess?). Don't they realize that Filipino social media users either don't care about them or they're tired of them?

Yeah, I just can't believe that the people are being corrupted by the thought of him abusing his powers when it comes to DAP.

Yeah, because continuing to defend something that's been declared by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional is totally not an offense to the separation of powers.... >:(
Other than that, and perhaps a few other shady dealings here and there (like him continually saying our economy is better, while no one's really getting anything from it, except maybe a few more foreigners coming over to visit), I'd also say he's a fine president; finer, at least, than the previous one. That said, well, I'm not admitting that he's perfect, but then again, no leader is (except Augustus Caesar. That guy is THE BOMB).

At the end of the day, this is the President which brought us an economy that would outshine the last three administrations' all combined, he has also brought about reforms that have been long over due and where were you during the Arroyo years? hmm? Do you think the Pork Barrel Scam would have been reported under her reign of terror? :eyebrow:

I didn't say he was a bad president, I said that what he's doing with the DAP scandal ain't exactly the best thing to do for a president. I was perfectly clear on that.
Although I'm kind of guessing here that your eyebrow is directed at my statement on his doing stuff with the economy. I should clarify that that is more me casting an odd eyebrow at him, rather than me outright criticizing his reforms, ie me being (somewhat reasonably) suspicious.

The economy that he boasts hasn't gotten to the poorest of the poor because they are considered "unskilled labour" and since this labour is currently in low demand then the current jobs that we can produce are not solving the problem.

Garlic problem is because of a miscalculation of how much we were going to import. T’is just a shortage.

How can there be a garlic shortage in the Philippines when China is next door. Even here on the other side of the planet, we get a lot of our garlic from China. Time for the Philippines to plant garlic.

No offence but the reason why the Chinese don't have a shortage when it comes to food is because that the food in China is so toxic that even McDonalds decided to stop buying Chinese ingredients.

I can't comment on the issue of DAP being unconstitutional, since I haven't seen what the ruling says. But IMO, they should just stop. Although if it was done with good intention, just let it go. The Philippine economy did improve, but it's like the US recovery from recession. Only the richest people benefited from it.

According to by father, who experienced working in China, vegetables can be really cheap. It might be because they have a huge land to be spared for agricultural purposes. Although he said he's not very happy with the fishes there :P

Yeah, actually Chinese ingredients (the unprocessed ones, not the manufactured goodies like toys and drinks) are reaally clean. The probable reason why McDonald's there doesn't buy local is coz', well, outsourcing everything is cheaper nowadays xD. Vegetables aren't just cheap there, but also quite clean and delicious. Okay, if the food is so clean then go to China and some food, in Beijing or in Shanghai, Hong Kong doesn't count because they've been carefully reducing mainland Chinese food ingredients from coming in.

That....that's a pretty stupid argument. I honestly would, if I had the time. It's not all dirty, really; China has a fairly large, hard-to-manage, and somehow corrupted government, so yes some of the bad stuff gets in, but really, it's not all dirty. You're sounding fairly ridiculous here, as if you're overreacting to the few cases of bad food that got in here from China.

No, we are not a nation of cat people. We're all humans (and a few annoying gnomes) here. The cat's just there because our king is such a genius, he saw that it would be a good military strategy to have a distractingly cute flag, to blind our enemies to (our) victory!
Technological level: FUTURE TECH. We also have MAGICAL TECH, and a lot of the people here still play with MEDIEVAL TECH and PRESENT TECH. We're cool that way.

Okay then enjoy it, I just know that if the U.S. doesn't think it's healthy then it's definitely not healthy because you should know very well that Americans have low standards when it comes to food.

Who're you referring to there?

On the issue of DAP, the Aquino administration.
