when i grew up, a phone was something you paid a monopoly a monthly charge to have in your house, that was connected to wires that were strung along poles.
and if you didn't have one, there were these little boxes you could walk into and close the door behind you, that had a phone and a directory of phone numbers in them. and they were in every train and bus station too. as well as street corners in commercial districts. sometimes even in residential areas. and the lobbies of hotels always had them too.

so i'm like, "get your cell phone off my lawn". or something like that.

and the best thing of all, is that when you got on a bus or a train, or just went for a nice walk, there wasn't anyone going to annoy you by trying to call you on one, because they know they weren't going to be able to get you that way.

truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

That's what most people get on-contract. You lucky bastard.

Seller sucked at price approximation, luckily for me.

I tried to get rid of the facebook and twitter apps on my HTC phone yesterday. Apparently I can't because they are 'part of the system software'. I guess HTC weren't paying attention to Microsoft being fined by the EU for a similar trick with Internet Explorer. Mind you the HTC Wildfire S is a piece of shit that I wish I had never bought anyway.

My mobile is evil and is plotting my downfall.

It loses charge when it is the worst possible time for me, as it doubles as my alarm.
The above post may or may not be serious.

Yeah, I do.

But I forget, which is why things go badly.

It seems to be able to hold a charge over a ten-hour work day, but can die after charging and being left over night.

I've tried to force myself into a routine to ensure I always have my phone charged, but sometimes I'll forget as well.

I just need to be a bit more disciplined when it comes to keeping the thing fed with electricity.

No.

Can Android fragmentation be fixed?

Yes, theoretically. But I don't see a great interest by the hardware producers in doing so - because it would mean that all Android devices would be basically rooted, which would make more difficult for them to get exclusivity contracts with mobile companies.

I have a land line and that is all.

No relay towers are permitted inside the borders of Adirondack Park.

We are going to get a phone for car emergencies. No photo or internet capacity, just a basic phone.

You could get a satellite phone. They cost a lot, though.

Yet another reason to dislike RIM, I guess.
