I...I'm so sorry, Japan.
I don't think there's a melon expensive enough to make up for this.

What about the trends of men and women who are Otaku, who have no girl/boyfriends, and thus form relationship with the video game/anime/manga characters? Isn't it is very worrying? I mean, when I go to Japan (Amen!) I don't want to be look like an unwanted...male.

I'm going to take Japanese classes, which will start next Saturday. It'll be every Saturday and it's for a year. I hope I could learn even basic Japanese from that class.
I really like Japan and its culture. First because of anime, but as time progresses I began to watch more Japanese shows (specifically comedy shows), like Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende! and Lincoln (big Downtown fan here). So yeah, I got intrigued by Japanese and became more and more determined to study it, until I finally decided to take it up (it's also 1 HS Credit so its a win win). I have a problem memorizing kanji and kana (I know hiragana vowels though). Hopefully I could memorize it, but I still wonder how I could memorize 2,000+ characters. From there, I'd like to start learning Kansai-ben too (out of curiosity).
I plan to visit Japan too, and even stay there for long period of time.
Just sharing my thoughts, sorry for a fairly long post

If you learn just three new kanji every day for a year, that's 1,095. If you read lots of books or have discussions with other people online through Japanese, it'll really help to ingrain them into your memory, I think.

2,136 these days. and an extra 861 for names.
I also notice that they use kanji for things when it comes to name like Yamasaki. They use the character 山 to represent yama.
Will it be possible to replace kanji with hiragana?

You're welcome. ^w^ Yes. All kanji can be expressed through hiragana. There's actually often small hiragana next to or on top of difficult kanji called furigana.

Keanu Reeves as Kai.[4] Reeves's character is half-Japanese and half-British; the character was created for the film.[5]

Yes, because Asians can't act as the lead role.

It doesn't help that all of the Asians in the film apparently hate him because he's white, but grow to accept him because he proves to be better than them at everything, whereupon they ask him, as the noble white man, to solve all of their problems.
I'm going to make a film about the American Revolution and cast Jackie Chan as George Washington.

Subverted in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Redheaded, quarter-German Asuka is touted as being a much better pilot than the full-blooded Japanese children, and yet she is often defeated before either of them and doesn't ever actually defeat a single opponent on her own.

For those who don't know, they are a comedy duo in Japan. Members are Hamada and Matsumoto. They host Lincoln and Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende. Maybe some of you have seen their batsu games before.

Japanese humor turns me off most of the time. Their physical humor is hilarious, but they don't have things that are more substantial like British satire.
But that batsu game that sets in high school is pretty fucking funny.
