In the cause of the truth and god we must do what we must do. What is wrong with that? And who am I saying should he mass murdered? I am pro-death penalty but that could be any one. And this goes back to earlier about how I want to live in an Islamic nation because if I said the stuff I say I would get approval.

What is wrong with that, you are killing people, that's what's wrong. People don't like being threatened, they respond to being threatened, often by killing the thing that is threatening them. Oh and every religion they are doing what they do in the name of truth and whatever deity or deities they believe in, so by that logic they have just as much right to kill you as you do them. So basically you want to live in an echo chamber where people are willing to kill and maim to get their way.

You seem to have an odd mix of beliefs and hatreds, especially when compared to the IRL Muslims I know.

You didn't defend Al-Q's killing of Muslim civilians, or accepting Israeli/American weapons; and you supposedly support Hizb Allah in Lebanon, though real Takfiri Al-Q supporters like ISIS constantly vilify them for being Shia "Grave Worshippers".

It doesn't have to be in the news. Any form of media would do. You know how shows and books have a token ethnic minority character, or in better cases a cast of multiple ethnicities? Or more recently having a member of the cast be LGBT? And they're usually depicted as non-stereotypical, normal people.

Al-Qaida or Al-Qaeda is ok there is no real dofrance. Also Sheikh Osama did accept Shias and also Hizb Allah did for an Alliance with Al-Qaida in training for Suicide Bombings. Also Osama worked with Shi'ite and Sufi Militas in Afghanistan in 1979. ISIL is not Al-Qeada but actually the enemy of Al-Qeada. Because it's founder Abu Zaraqawi was banned from Al-Qaeda for disobeying orders.And founded his own Milita which is the enemy of every one there only true Ally is The Army of the men of the Naqshbandi order.

I don't care who gives us Weapons that's only better. Why should I care the enemy supplying us is just stupid. In Afghanistan in the 70's-80's the U.S. didn't care about Islam. It cared about countering the Soviet Union. Our war was for Allah America's to stop the Soviet Union. And killing Muslim Civlians maybe they broke Laws not Secularist Man's laws but Allah's(SWT) law. When one brakes a law one must be punished.

I'm not serving as the extremists' spokesman, but maybe that will be their reaction.

Thankfully for so many people, there are many moderate, peace-loving Muslims around. They don't go around preaching war against non-Muslim (and they're opposed to Al-Qaeda and other Islamist terrorist organizations). If they're preaching their religion, they do it peacefully. That, thank God, is the case here in Indonesia. Yes, there's some extremists around, but most Muslims here believe in fostering and preserving harmony with non-Muslims, and preaching Islam peacefully.

As an archaeologist who's currently living and working in the Middle East, it's obviously a topic of particular interest to me.

I would, however, recommend that detailed discussion of the threat to Syria and Iraq's archaeological heritage be taken to a different thread unless the topic of discussion is narrowly limited to the impact of conservative interpretations of Sharia Law on cultural/archaeological heritage - see also what the Saudis are doing to Mecca and Medina - particularly as regards the Wahhabist-inspired destruction of sites and shrines associated with prophets and historically important Muslims on the basis that they encourage idolatry (Latter link: "The situation is so bad that the Washington based Gulf Institute estimates that 95 percent of the millennium old buildings in the two cities have been destroyed in the past twenty years").

That's a more appropriate focus for the present thread.

Did you realise, for example, that the house of Khadijah - first wife of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), of course - has recently been torn down and replaced with... a block of public toilets. Now that's a great way for the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques to send out a positive international message about both women and Islam's cultural heritage.
