Presuming you mean that the USA never existed AS WE KNOW IT, i.e. there was no revolution, Mexico would be huge, there would be such a thing as French America, and the other version of America would be part of the Commonwealth like Canada. Americans would probably be nicer because they wouldn't have the arrogance that comes with being a superpower due to being tinier.

Both, you say? Well, if the United States would cease to exist right now, then a worldwide PANIC would start, because everyone would think that the aliens would take them, too. I mean, how would you react if an entire country just disappeared?

But if it never existed, then a lot of good inventions wouldn't have existed, either. And then, World War Two would have ended very differently, and Germany would be a world power now. And you know what that would mean.

So, as much as the Americans are very narcissist, and think that they are the most important, we very much needed the United States in our world.

But Germany would not accept, and then attack further. Remember, the United States joined the war late, and Germany was already occupying France and trying to do the same to England.

Personally, I think the world would be a lot worse without the US, both of the world wars would likely have been much worse, we might still be feeling the effects today, that is if we one in the first place. Communism would probably spread faster and further and we would be missing out on lots of good inventions.

I have no idea what would've happened, and I don't think anyone does. The thirteen colonies wouldn't have suddenly been run by some totalitarian British government had the UK 'won' the Revolutionary War, there wasn't the money for it, and besides, it's quite hard to run that kind of government when your flow of information about a place a) takes ages to get anywhere, and b) is one tomahawk from not being heard at all.

I guess it would've expanded more slowly, maybe? But then you look at Canada's expansion in the 18th and 19th centuries and maybe that wouldn't be the case. *shrug*
