And I've got some good news, I've been saving up for the past year and a half and getting paperwork ready to move me and my daughter to the US! In the next few days, I'm going to be booking a flight to the UK where I will spend a week travelling before I take a flight to the US, I've been getting my passport ready, and have found a few apartments that I'm after, until then I'll be living with my friend who lives in Oklahoma. I'm really excited to start working on getting my American citizenship. I don't know what to expect though lol, I'm hoping that I'll meet some nice people once I get to the states, so anyone got any advice?

Dont come, run in the opposite direction!
Ah,good to have you come to the US. Welcome :D

You're right, I shouldn't have expected you to read the source. That would've been far too much work for you to do.

When you post a source that requires more than five minutes of reading, it's common courtesy to explain what it's actually about. Apparently this simple courtesy is a tad too much for you to comprehend, as your posts clearly demonstrated.

And I suppose common courtesy in your mind also includes refusing to read sources present to dispute your points? Even after I explained what they were about, since yououtright admitted to not reading them anyway?

"Oh noes, Shof is refusing to read mah sources, bawww!" - It's funny, because CM is actually demanding that I read his sources, without having the decency to explain their relevancy to his point, when he initially posts them.

Thing is, if you don't explain a source right off the bat, and your very next line is an accusation, i.e. "so what you're saying is that you didn't read the source..." that really makes me not give a shit about whatever you want to say. Also, are you aware of the singular-plural rules of the English language? Because in the first post you linked, you have correctly identified it as a "source", i.e., singular. Then, after pointing out that I won't be reading your long ass source, (singular,) you somehow decided that the word "source" was in fact, plural. I'm not sure where you went wrong, but the correct substitution for the word "source", is the singular "it", not the plural "them". So here's how English speakers would use substitutions: "source" - "it", "sources" - "them". Thus, only once you use the word "sources", do you actually get to use the pronoun "them". But if you are claiming that I didn't read "sources", you are in fact, incorrect, since you only posted two, and I read one of them, so using logic and common sense, we arrive at the "source".

Ever consider that if you don't put in the time to read sources that have been presented to you, I have absolutely zero incentive to give a shit about your objections? And if the accusation is true (Which it is, by your own admission), what does that leave you as doing? Whining about a true accusation that reflects poorly on your own conduct?

Pathetic.

You're keeping around my sarcastic comments? Should I be worried about getting a stalker notice? Also, it's up to the person who is making the argument, and/or presenting a source, to explain why it's relevant. When a person miserably fails to do that, as you have done, it's not my job to read that crap. And what's the accusation? That I don't bother reading long ass sources whose relevance the poster miserably failed to explain? Well, guilty as charged. And I won't bother reading that crap in the future. And for you to go on whining about others not reading sources that you've initially failed to explain, and instantly accused them of not reading?

Now that's truly pathetic.

A sarcastic comment bemoaning my insistence that you actually read sources, yes. I find it quite amusing - and telling as well.

For making a correct accusation, explaining why you should've read the source, and then deriding your history of not reading sources?

Hardly pathetic. A display of pattern recognition, more like.

My history of not reading sources? Display of pattern recognition? What are you having, and how can I avoid smoking that crap? As I've said before, if people fail to explain to me why a source is relevant, when they initially post the source, I won't read it. Otherwise, I will. Apparently that's too hard a truth for you to accept, and/or comprehend. Too bad, because I don't give a shit whether you accept it, or not.

Maryland is good to, so long as you stay out of the actual city of Baltimore, you at least stick to the parts, bordering Baltimore County.

I am an American and if you are nice then you will most likely be well accepted here in our great country. Most people here are nice although there are a few jerks but jerks exist in every country. It might be hard to find a job thanks to the great recession and healthcare here isn't universal so that can be a problem. On the bright side America's crime rate is lower than the crime rate in Russia and our government is nowhere near as corrupt as the Russia government. Just look at the Corruption Perception Index statistics and you will see for yourself. It sounds like you worked pretty hard to come to the United States so I hope that your experience is a most delightful one :)

I did a semester at Loyola. It was nice, the area around it was decent.

I don't disagree that there are decent parts of Baltimore. I was raised in Baltimore, went to Poly, which is near Loyola and is a great High School, went to college here at Johns Hopkins, and I'm still here. I do feel that if my finances were in order, and if my mother weren't disabled, then I would not live here and I certainly feel that I would not want to raise my theoretical children here, therefore I cannot in good conscience give a seal of approval for anyone to move to Baltimore if they are considering the whole US in their plans. There are far better choices in Maryland alone let alone the rest of the United States to live than Baltimore unless you want your children to get into Johns Hopkins for free, then you should raise your children here so they can qualify for the Baltimore Merit Scholarship. My mother is still happy about that :) .
