I'm not sure if you folks have heard of this, but 4chan started a trend on Twitter entitled 'cut4bieber', where basically hoax pictures of self harm were tweeted along with a complaint against Bieber smoking marijuana.

Is it just a bit of harmless fun? Or did someone on 4chan take a joke a little too far? I personally can't see the harm in it, unless people genuinely fall for it; neither source (if I can call the Daily Mail one) really clears that up, unfortunately. Then again, I generally don't see the harm in virtually any kind of humour, and some people did take it as a pun, with images of cutting paper, pictures of Bieber etc.

There's a picture that went around my facebook, just a massive quote chain and then some guy suggesting starting the 'cut4bieber' campaign.

I think it is sick. Until i read this, i thought it was real, but now that i know it was a fake it makes me even more upset. First this country is treating Justin Bibier like hes either a god or the devil. Second, who ever made this up had to of know they would get at lest a few to believe it and harm themselves. Who ever made this has little to no common seance.

1) kills himself

2) vows never to sing again

3) gets dumped in iran

There comes a point where there is no culpability but your own for being an idiot. This culpability lies entirely with the people who thought it a good idea to cut themselves over Bieber smoking weed.

The fact that they actually went there is funny, not the specific fact that they cut themselves.

Nationstates gets news quite slow, it's been an entire day already - which is a month in internet time.

In any case, many of the pictures are reportedly from the fake twitter accounts of fake teenage girls - so a good amount of the pictures are fake or either not of this situation. However, I would not put it past Justin Beiber's fangirls - the many of whom shaved their heads during the '#baldforbeiber' operation - to injure themselves amongst the collective efforts of these fake acts.

The majority of these pictures are faked, but I'm willing to bet their is a small amount of legitimate photographs in the bunch.
