For New Yorkers, MTA services will be suspended from 7pm tonight so that the system can be secured from possible floods and the workers can get home safely.

Generators are fucking life-savers.
I have a 8000watt, you? Been looking into getting a Generac 10,000watt or 20,000 watt that runs on natural gas, and can also use propane if the natural gas does down.
Getting tired of having to get up to 50 gallons of gas, just to run the generator when the power goes out, and takes Entergy a week to restore power.

I currently don't have a generator. But during Katrina, my family evacuated from our home (near where the New Orleans airport is) to my aunt's home (halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans), and her husband had a generator. Not sure what kind, but it saved our asses.
