Does anyone else here find a sort of detachment between the Christmas you grew up with and the Christmas you hear about from Christians?
Let me clarify, when I was a child Christmas was A Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, spending time your family, enjoying time off from work/school, Santa Claus, Jack Frost, Frosty the Snow Man.

Thanksgiving is an entirley secular holiday created not by any church, but the US government. Thanksgiving is simply about being grateful, which you're supposed to be all year round. Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating the triumph of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ over the bonds of death. I don't make fun of Easter because I'm showing reverence to the most important holiday of the year for Christians, other than Christmas.
