But of course, a theocracy would never stamp on people's civil rights :lol2:

It's the free market thing that worries me the most though. Think of all the underhanded shit corporations can do now. And Paul and his ilk want to get rid of regulations that keep them from doing things would make corporations do whatever the hell they feel like.

How in the hell does that make sense?

Oh, and corporate regulations are one of the things that Congress is expressly given the right to do by the Constitution, so no, the Framers do not believe in 100% free market.

He wants to end the Federal Drug War, which somehow means that he is pro-pot and many don't look up his other stances. Also End the Fed rhymes and everyone loves rhymes.

Ending national drug criminalization is actually one of the only things I can agree with him on (and I do not and would not use pot or heroin or meth etc etc etc). What I would want to see is legalization under the same federal regulations as alcohol.

Available drugs and hookers, and everyone will get rich.

Would be my guess.

The ones that confuse me aren't the easily-led kids - it's the adults who've grown-up, got some experience of the real world and still try to argue that Ron Paul's vision would be anything other than hell for America.

so apparently ron paul believes that:
a) the north fired first
b) lincoln only pretended to care about slavery so he could force central banking on america
c) the result of the civil war was 'canceling out the whole concept of individual choice' and a reduction in liberty
and d) it was a good idea to speak in front of a giant flag symbolizing treason in defense of slavery.

Must be campaigning in the south.

I pretty sure in a few weeks we will Paul deny that speech, and tell us how it was totally written by someone else. Because, you know Paul would never racebait or anything.

the video looks at least a few years old. so he was probably just at one of the various bircher/militia/neo-confederate conventions to sell newsletter subscriptions.

what i like is that lincoln himself made fun of ron paul's imaginary version of events way back in 1860.
A highwayman holds a pistol to my ear, and mutters through his teeth, "Stand and deliver, or I shall kill you, and then you will be a murderer!"

I think this image better demonstrates the general reaction I found in such reports comment sections.

They tried to make it out of M16s but it kept falling apart under all that shoddy worksmanship.

Also, I think this is a more accurate description of Paulites' reactions:

Though that's not fair because Darth Vader was much less evil and tyrannical than Paul is.

Yeah, I am disappointed that Paul voted for the 2001 AUMF. The reason I hope that Paul does at least relatively well in the Republican primaries, despite the fact that I strongly disagree with him on many issues, is that he generally opposes the so-called war on terror, and I cannot bring myself to support any candidate who does not oppose the endless war. This is one reason why I'll probably end up supporting the Green Party or Socialist Party USA candidate, and is the primary reason why I cannot support Obama.

There is an alternative Ron Paul campaign I could really get behind though, based on this t-shirt:

Is that the endless war that the President has ended one part of? The endless war from which we're withdrawing troops, 10,000 last year, more this year, the last by 2014? That endless war?

Ron Paul is screwed. He is skipping Florida to try and get a head start at the next two states, he's getting a bit desperate.

I like some of Ron Pauls policies. Like his war policy and his drug one. But his economic policies are probably the worst out of every candidate.

That's a bit harsh. He may be racist, but he seems like a nice enough guy.

Once he drops out, which he will in a few weeks. He'll probably retire.

I am curious as to what the obsessive Paulbots will do when he drops out, they seem to be obsessed with this one guy, who will they follow once he quits?

It seems obvious to me that most paulbots who support the guy on the netz aren't really too republican. So probs Obama.
At the beginning there was nothing except for Me and the Word. And then I used the Word to make everything. It was a fragile, entropic, continuously changing world that encompassed both light and darkness, sadness and joy, agony and ecstasy, sin and rescue. I looked down at that barely holding piece of mud, and it was good. I looked up at the entire universe, an unstable sandstorm of stars that would fade just as inevitably as the souls of man, and it was good. I think if Ron Paul asked to be the nominee they'd accomodate him, don't you? Just on name recognition alone.
