I like France actually. Can't abide Germany, and find much of Spain just as annoying, but I've never found France anything but enjoyable. Admittedly, I do have a French A-level and a distinctly Gallic contempt for the world anyway, but of the European countries I've visited, it's my favourite. Unless we play them at any sport, when I'll happily indulge Frog bashing.

Well you see I'm doubly biased having spent time growing up in Germany and the UK (yeah ok...netherlands as well but that doesn't really fit in this hate fest) ... I do very much like French food and booze though...but I think Belgium is better for food and beer.

Whenever I look at these alcohol threads they make me feel lowclass for me just a thirty pack of Busch Lite or a bottle of Jack Daniels, or if I'm feeling something foreign I go with some Jager.

By the way, it's nice to hear about my ancestral homeland Wales. I've been there once, although I didn't get to see much of it because we were on an annoyingly tight schedule. It was what you might call a whirlwind tour, and what I might call a bowel-buster tour.

Welsh chippies tend to be better, but the more up market stuff that most people don't eat (veal, quail, etc) is best in England.

I personally will drink about anything, but my true preference is Beer.

I do not drink alcohol because I am more of a coffee person. However, I would not support alcohol prohibition because it is merely a personal choice and I think such a ban would be a "nanny state" move and of course I'm not happy about the idea of a "nanny state".

Well, I prefer schannps, but honestly I'll drink almost anything except for whiskey. I think I'm the only Irishman ever who couldn't stand whiskey.

I'm a wine person. I can drink beer when the occasion is good for it and hard liquor less often.

I'm a cocktail sort of girl - and the girlier the cocktail, the better, in general. I don't have a super-strong preference for any particular liquor as a cocktail base; I seem to like all the usual suspects except for gin roughly equally.
