wel the point is that it doesnt matter (he's the cutest malti-poo ever). if he were a great dane THAT would be my favorite dog.

except for generalities--size, class of breed--it is as "comsumerist" to prefer a dog for its looks as it is to prefer blondes for dating.

Beagles are cute, especially the fat ones. I have one. They're my second favorite dog.

My favorites are Labrador Retrievers, especially black ones. I used to have one, but he died a few years ago. He was so loving and well-behaved/loyal.

they are great dogs. my niece had one. smart, happy, trainable. what more can you want in a little dog.

you can train your dog to stop barking after a certain number of barks at the neighbors dogs.

I have only ever had one dog ... actually, it was in the family before me. It's a half breed pomeranian and we still don't know what the other half is, possibly corgi.

Anyways, my favorite dog is one my friend got a few weeks ago. It's a pomsky. Half pomeranian, half husky, apparently. I'm not sure if there is any health defects about the huge size difference in the breeds but it is. The. Cutest. Thing. Ever.

My favorite large dog however is a St.Bernard, I don't know what I like about them, I just do ...

I know. I've been trying with brooms, newspapers, and we even bought a Bark-Off. Advice: Save your money; the thing's crap.

I think one of my dogs gets it, but the other one still mouths off as much as possible.

no broom, no newspapers. TREATS. you allow your dog to give you notice that there is a dog on the other side of the fence then give him a treat for stopping barking. teach him to ignore the dogs after that. they are none of his business after he is sure you know they are there.

you need to read up on it so you do it right. dogs have a memory of less than 5 seconds. if you dont work within that window it wont work.

I think it's funny this poll doesn't include 7 of the top 10 dogs registered by the AKC.

But, I'd have to say Boxers or Golden Retrievers. I've got one of each, and I don't think I'll ever have a breed that's not one of these two.

I'm a Staffordshire Bull Terrier guy, myself. Otherwise known as a Pit Bull. Dixie is her name. At the moment, she is snuggling my pillow. The bitch wouldn't let me sleep so I'm half tempted to kick her off my bed just for spite..... but I won't.

More a cat person, but I if was to have a dog it would probably be a bit of a mutt from a shelter. For pure breed dogs I quite like Jack Russells and greyhounds. Someone who lives near me has a dog that has the build of a small German Shepherd but the colouration of a husky and really striking blue eyes - not sure what breed it is, but it seems like a really nice dog.
